Pixar's Evolving Technology, an evaluation of "How Pixar brings its animated movies to life"

Pixar's Evolving Technology

Pixar has been around since 1986 and has been animating movies ever since its first one Toy Story. There is no doubt that the movies Pixar makes, are of very high quality and take time and effort to make, but did you know that thanks to the improvement in animation technology, 3D animated movies have been easier to make at a higher quality. According to the article How Pixar brings its animated movies to life explains how throughout the years Pixar has been able to improve its program: RenderMan. In the mid 2000's films like the Incredibles and Cars took 3000 processors to render but films like Monsters University took 20,000 processes but the quality was highly improved. The article does a really good job of explaining what RenderMan is capable of doing recently compared to what it could do 15 years ago. I suggest if you like animation and like to learn about the advances being made with software you should read the article.
